About Me

Janet Watkins Ceramics: Janet Watkins is a self taught artist who's artistic journey began just a few years ago after retiring from a career at the Federal Reserve Bank. She is both a ceramic and mosaic artist. Janet was awarded the Juror Choice award the first time she exhibited her art in an exhibition. She is a member of: Associated Artists, Society of Sculptors, Society of Artists, The Flock Artist Collective, Women of Visions & The Craftsmens Guild where she serves on the board. She was a panel speaker during the 2023 National Ceramics NCECA Conference and curated the 2024 MAVUNO exhibit the Sweetwater in Sewickley PA. Her works are owned by several art collectors in the region. Many of her larger sculptural pieces have been exhibited in galleries including: Carnegie Museum of Art, Wilmer Jennings Gallery (NYC), Univ of Pitt Fine Arts Gallery, Society of Contemporary Craft (BYN), August Wilson Gallery, Kelly Strayhorn, Pittsburgh Ctr for Arts, Touchstone, Community College of Allegheny, Pittsburgh International Airport, Art Miami Red-Dot Spectrum, Bunker Gallery
